The average distance from Antalya's coastal resorts like Antalya, Alanya, Belek, Kemer and Antalia to Cappadocia is 500 km. During the trip, our guide will keep you entertained with interesting stories about the upcoming tour and places you'll see along the way. Also, you'll enjoy the beautiful landscapes from the bus window.
  • Day 1:
  • Our first stop will be for breakfast, which is included in the price. You'll stop at a cafe/restaurant with a view of the scenic Taurus mountains.
  • After breakfast, you'll continue your journey to Cappadocia. On our second big stop, you'll visit a unique place - Saratli, an underground city. Tourists can explore three of its seven levels. The guide will tell you when and why people built such shelters and how they lived in them.
  • The next stop is near Goreme. You'll visit the El Nazar church, carved into a rock and dating back to the 5th century. Its walls preserve unique paintings and frescoes depicting saints and significant events in the history of Orthodox Christianity.
  • The following stop is for lunch, but it is not included in the tour price. After lunch, we invite you to explore famous valleys of Cappadocia. You'll visit the Dervent or Imagination Valley and Monks Valley. You can take a walk around the earth-shaped stone mushrooms and take unique photos.
  • Then, you'll visit the rock town of Cavusin, home to the Church of St. John the Baptist, the oldest in Cappadocia. The guide will share fascinating historical information and give you free time to explore and take photos.
  • The tour continues as you travel further into Cappadocia. There will be several brief stops at lookout points for you to enjoy stunning panoramic views.
  • You'll stop near Love Valley, enjoy panoramas of the Ortahisar and Uchisar fortresses, and a general view of the town of Goreme.

  • Day 2:
  • The second day of the 2-day Cappadocia tour starts with the most exciting part – a hot air balloon ride. Early in the morning, a transfer will pick you up from your hotel and take you to the launch site. The flight lasts 1 hour. You will float in the sky in a big basket, enjoy the beautiful views of Cappadocia and greet the sunrise.
  • If you don't want to greet the sunrise in a hot air balloon, we can offer you to watch the sunrise from a viewing platform and also arrange a unique photo session. The sight of the first rays of the rising sun turning everything around into soft pink and orange shades, and dozens of bright hot air balloons taking off into the sky is truly mesmerizing.
  • After the flight or balloon viewing, you will return to your hotel for breakfast, which is included in the price, and then continue your tour.
  • You will visit the Anatolian stone center, which is on the way to the next location - Pigeon Valley. We will stop at a viewing platform, which offers a stunning view. Pigeon Valley is attractive for its history, the birds themselves, and many dovecotes cut right into the cliffs, as well as tall stone mushrooms, or fairy chimneys, as they are also called.
  • Nearby is Uchisar Fortress – another place you will visit. The guide will acquaint you with the fascinating history of the fortress and give you free time. At the end of the tour, you will visit a sweet shop, where you can taste a variety of treats and buy your favorites.
  • After visiting the store, you will have a stop for lunch, after which you will leave the Cappadocia area. Another place you will visit on the way back to your hotel is Caravanserai - a former resting place for traders and travelers, now for tourists wishing to rest a bit before returning to their hotels. Things to do

CAPPADOCIA

  • Cappadocia is a valley of beautiful horses, stone mushrooms, and fairies. This amazing region is in the heart of Turkey and attracts tourists with its unique moon-like landscapes, interesting centuries-old history, and the search for answers to unsolved mysteries.
  • Cappadocia is one of Turkey's main attractions, formed over 60 million years ago. Tectonic plate collisions and breaks, and later volcanic eruptions resulted in the ground being covered with a thick layer of mountain rock – volcanic tuff. After that, it was a matter of time, wind, and rain. The soft volcanic rock was eroded, and thanks to this, oddly shaped rock pillars, mountains, valleys, and canyons were created. These amazing natural formations are often called "rock mushrooms," and locals call them "fairy chimneys." The mushroom "stem" is tuff, and the "cap" is basalt. Basalt is denser than tuff and erodes slower, which means the landscape of Cappadocia is constantly changing, showing us that nature is the best creator, capable of creating a real masterpiece with the destructive forces of cataclysms.
  • Sometimes Cappadocia is called the cradle of Christianity. This is because in the 1st century AD, the walls of the rocks provided shelter and protection to the first Christians, who were hiding from their persecutors.
  • On your tour, you will be able to visit multi-level underground cities, rock fortresses, monks' houses, and churches. You will walk through valleys with otherworldly landscapes: Rose, Red, Love, Pigeon. And at dawn, enjoy a fantastic view as hundreds of hot air balloons take off into the sky, or perhaps even take a flight yourself.
  • The city of Avanos Avanos is a city of potters. It is located on the banks of the longest river in Turkey, Kızılırmak, or also known as the Red River. The river got its name because of the large amount of clay on its banks. The people of Avanos have been involved in pottery and carpet weaving for a long time.
  • The main attractions of the city are, of course, the pottery and carpet weaving workshops, where anyone can take part in a master class; a ceramic museum; a monument to the crafts of Avanos. Not far from the city is the Paşabağ Valley, popular for the Rock Church of St. Simeon, and the Dervent (Fantasy) Valley.

Underground Cities

  • Underground cities are the main mystery of Cappadocia. More than 200 of such hidden shelters have been discovered, but only 30 have been studied. People aren't sure who built them and when. Some say the ancient Hittites did it, others suggest it was during the rise of Christianity, and some even talk about unknown advanced civilizations. What is agreed upon is that these cities were built for protection.
  • Each city could house 50 families and goes many floors down. They had everything planned: ventilation, wells, toilets, rest rooms, wine cellars, storage rooms, barns, stables, livestock pens, schools, and a church. People could stay underground for up to 3 months without needing to go outside.
  • The largest and most known settlements are Derinkuyu, Kaymakli, Ozkonak, and Saratli. You can visit Saratli, which was found by archaeologists by accident in 1991. For 30 years, archaeological work has been carried out here. Currently, 7 floors have been cleaned, and the first 3 levels are open to tourists.

Hot Air Balloons in Cappadocia

  • Hot air balloons are a real symbol of Cappadocia. At sunrise, up to 200 colorful balloons can be seen rising into the sky. Each balloon can carry 2 to 35 passengers. You'll float in the air for about an hour, going up and down to view all the sights and enjoy the beauty. Balloon flights take place all year round, as long as the weather is good - no strong wind or rain.
  • The Civil Aviation Authority of Turkey gives permission for the flights, and the pilot must be trained and have a proper certificate. The best time is from April to October. Another stunning sight is the parade of balloons, which can be enjoyed from any viewing point, and makes for great photos.

Konya

  • Konya has more than 2 million residents and is the largest city by area among Turkish cities. Konya was founded during Byzantine times and was called "Iconium" - "the city where icons are made". In the 13th century, the city became the capital of the Seljuk Empire. The Seljuks started calling it Konya. Today, it's a large industrial center.
