About the Tour

  • Our tour program begins at 08:30-09:00. We will pick you up from the security gate of your hotel and embark on a sightseeing tour of Antalya. This city is a treasure trove of rich history and unique attractions, and it is also one of the largest resorts in southern Turkey.
  • The tour starts with a visit to the iconic Düden Waterfalls, a symbol of Antalya.
  • First, you'll visit Lower Düden, the world's tallest freshwater waterfall, cascading 45 meters into the open sea. From the observation deck, you can enjoy spectacular views and take stunning photos with the Lower Düden as a backdrop.
  • Next, you'll head to Upper Düden, located in a national park. This 27-meter high waterfall's streams of water, often compared to silver threads, can be enjoyed from various angles on observation decks on both sides of the waterfall, as well as from caves hidden behind the flowing water.
  • Following this, you'll visit a silverware store where you can admire the craftsmanship of Turkish jewelers and purchase beautiful silver souvenirs.
  • As the tour progresses, we'll take a break for lunch, included in the tour price, at a local restaurant.
  • Refreshed, you'll continue exploring the enchanting Antalya, moving on to its oldest part, Kaleiçi. This district has preserved its historic charm, with its Marble Triumphal Arch, Hadrian's Gate, serving as a portal between the past and the present. Here, you'll have 50-60 minutes of free time.
  • Walking through its cobbled streets, you'll encounter historical landmarks such as the Saat Kulesi clock tower, Hıdırlık Tower, Mehmet Pasha Mosque, Karatay Medrese, Yivli Minaret, and the old Marina port. But the tour doesn't end here.
  • Our guide will take you to the port where your yacht will be waiting. Boarding the yacht, you'll embark on a 45-50 minute sea journey along Antalya's coast. You can relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of the city from the sea.

About the Attractions

KALEİÇİ (OLD TOWN)

  • Antalya is the largest resort city in southern Turkey, attracting millions of tourists from around the world every year. Vibrant, modern, with countless luxury hotels, shops, cafes, and restaurants, it is the perfect destination for an unforgettable vacation on the pristine shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
  • Antalya offers a wide variety of diverse and interesting attractions, but it's best to start your exploration with Kaleiçi, the oldest part of the city that has preserved its ancient atmosphere and rich history, dating back centuries. "Kaleiçi" translates to "inside the fortress."
  • The high walls that once protected the port from enemies for two thousand years have preserved the town almost in its original state. Unfortunately, only fragments of these walls remain.
  • The main monument of ancient architecture, Hadrian's Gate, a marble triumphal arch with columns built in honor of the Roman Emperor, serves as a portal separating the old quarter from the modern world. Once you pass under it, you enter a different Turkey with narrow streets, cobbled roads, cozy houses, and buildings considered cultural heritage sites, such as the Kesik Minaret, Murat Pasha Mosque built in the 16th century, and Atatürk's House.
  • Hıdırlık Tower is another relic from the past, a remnant from the gladiators' era. Historians have different opinions about its purpose; some believe it was a lighthouse, others attribute it a defensive function, and some even think it stored water supplies. Whatever its original purpose, the 14-meter-tall Hıdırlık Tower offers a stunning panoramic view of the Kaleiçi port and the entire Antalya coastline.

SAAT KULESI (CLOCK TOWER)

  • Saat Kulesi, the clock tower of Antalya, is a historical landmark and symbol of the city. It is often depicted on travel guides, stamps, and postcards. Located in Kalekapısı Square, near the entrance to the old quarter of Kaleiçi, it is a popular and constant meeting point for both locals and tourists.
  • Historical records take us back to the 19th century. The clock tower was built in 1901, after the German Emperor Wilhelm II made a friendly gift of facade clocks to the Turkish Sultan Abdul Hamid. Similar clock towers can be found in other Turkish cities, such as Kemer.
  • The exact purpose of the tower is still unknown. Some historians believe it was built specifically for the clock, while others think it was part of the fortifications.
  • The structure has remained almost unchanged to this day: a two-tiered building, 14 meters high. The lower part, pentagonal in shape, is made of rough stone and has a rugged appearance. The upper part is quadrangular, smooth, and made of dressed stone. The roof was once adorned with an iron dome, which was blown off by a strong storm and replaced with a simple brickwork with battlements. The clock hands, originally adorned with figures of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary until 1974, still show the correct time.

YIVLI MINARET

  • The Yivli Minaret is visible from any point in the city. This ancient architectural monument of Muslim culture and symbol of victory in the Mediterranean war has stood for over 800 years, its appearance virtually unchanged since it was built by Sultan Alaaddin Keykubad. The minaret stands 38 meters tall, with an eight-column middle tier, topped with a pointed dome. Inside, a spiral staircase with 90 steps leads to the top. Some parts of the facade have lost their blue tile mosaics, revealing the stonework underneath, adding an old-world charm.
  • Originally, the Yivli Minaret was attached to the walls of a Byzantine church, which was later converted into a mosque but did not survive to the present day. The new building was constructed in 1372 by architect Balaban Tavasi using the remaining ancient fragments. Tourists visiting the ancient mosque during a sightseeing tour of Antalya must adhere to simple rules. Dress modestly, covering most of the body; women should cover their heads with a scarf; and shoes should be removed before entering.
  • Do not enter during prayer times. Inside the mosque, move slowly and speak quietly. Photography is allowed, but not of people—especially not Muslim women. Men's permission should be sought before taking their photos. Mobile phones must be switched off to avoid fines.
  • Alongside these attractions, you can visit the mausoleums of Nigar Hatun and Zincirkiran, and the Mevlevi House—an exhibition hall showcasing manuscripts, everyday items, musical instruments, looms, and tapestries.

LOWER DÜDEN WATERFALL

  • During the sightseeing tour of Antalya, guests will undoubtedly visit the city's gem—the Düden Waterfalls. Despite the common name and their formation by a single river, these are two completely different cascades, separated by 15 kilometers.
  • Lower Düden, 45 meters high, is located in a park in the Lara district, with free access to the park area. This is the world's highest freshwater waterfall, flowing directly into the open sea. You can admire it from the observation deck or from the sea, where, according to tourists, the most picturesque view of the waterfall is seen from passing yachts and ships. The powerful streams create a mist of millions of tiny water droplets, often accompanied by a rainbow during the day and colorful illumination at night.
  • The other name for the Lower Düden Waterfall is Karpuzkaldıran, meaning "jumping watermelon" in Turkish. One theory suggests that a flood washed away a nearby watermelon patch, while another says locals used to float watermelons down the river but couldn't always retrieve them.
  • Regardless of its name's origin, this natural wonder is a must-see. Afterward, you can stroll through the shaded park alleys, relax in a cozy café, and enjoy the sound of cascading water with a cup of aromatic coffee.

UPPER DÜDEN WATERFALL

  • Ten kilometers from the center of Antalya, in the beautiful and well-maintained Şelale Park in the Varsak district, is the first waterfall formed by the Düden River—Upper Düden Waterfall, 27 meters high and over 600 years old.
  • The river itself is fascinating, originating from the karst sources of the Taurus Mountains. Before the construction of the hydroelectric power station in 1962, it alternately flowed underground and surfaced. The artificially created channel now forms a single watercourse.
  • At its source, the river's flow is calm and lazy, but within 100 meters, it gains strength, creating rapids and finally plunging down the cliff with a roar.
  • The overall scene is mesmerizing: silver streams of water falling into an emerald lake, contrasting with the green vines and trees of the park area. Here, you'll also find a 700-year-old plane tree and rock-cut tombs and sarcophagi from the 2nd and 3rd centuries.
  • The best part of this attraction is that you can admire it from the observation deck or from the caves and grottos hidden by the waterfall itself. Standing inside, you can feel the full power of this natural phenomenon. Be cautious, though, as the cave floor has stalagmite-like formations. According to local belief, if you tie a thread around these "needles," make a wish, and look at the sky through the stone ceiling's opening, your wish will come true.
