- You will be the first to visit the Duden Waterfalls, a cascade of waterfalls formed by the Duden River of the same name, the most important waterway in the southern part of the city. The source of the river is located at the foot of the Taurus Mountains, 30 km from the center of Antalya.
- The Upper and Lower Duden waterfalls are located at a distance of 15 km from each other.
- The Upper Duden is located in a national park, has a height of 27 meters, and its peculiarity is that you can see the silver streams of water flowing into the lake not only from observation decks, but also from inside the caves.
- The Lower Duden is considered the highest freshwater waterfall in the world, flowing into the open sea. Its height is 45 meters, and it is from the sea that the most picturesque and beautiful view of it opens.
- After admiring the majestic creation of nature, you will go to the next interesting and unusual place - the jam factory. Most likely, you did not know that Antalya is the leader in the production of this delicacy. You will see jam from a wide variety of fruits and even vegetables, and you will also be able to taste it. If desired, you can buy the jam you like for your loved ones, as a reminder of the wonderful days spent in sunny Turkey or as a gift to your loved ones. Please note that at the discretion of the guide, instead of a brewing factory, you can visit a silver and silverware store.
- After lunch, you will embark on an exciting adventure – cable car ascent to the top of Mount Tunektepe. The height of the cable car is 605 meters. You will overcome this distance in 10 minutes, sitting in a modern cable car cabin designed for 8 people and enjoying the beautiful views.
- After the panorama, we move on to the historical part of the tour and get acquainted with the Old Town of Kaleichi.
- The entrance to the historical part of Antalya begins with the triumphal arch of Hadrian, built by the ancient Romans in the 2nd century BC. And behind it, time seemed to freeze. You will walk along the narrow, cobblestone streets, admire the houses entwined with a brightly blooming bougainvillea vine, see the tallest building, the Yivli Minaret, and by all means go out to the old port.

MORE ABOUT THE TOUR
Kaleichi Old Town in Antalya
- Antalya is the largest resort city in the south of the Turkish Republic. It attracts millions of tourists from all over the world every year. Bright, advanced, with countless luxury hotels, shops, cafes and restaurants, and most importantly – on the cleanest shores washed by the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea, you can spend an unforgettable vacation.
- Antalya has a huge selection of diverse and interesting sights, but you should start your acquaintance with the part of the city from which it all began, which has preserved the ancient atmosphere and remembers its great history going back many centuries – from the Kaleichi district, which means "inside the fortress".
- The high walls that once protected the port from enemy attacks for two thousand years have managed to preserve the town in almost pristine condition. But, unfortunately, only fragments of themselves remained.
- The main monument of ancient architecture – Hadrian's Gate – a marble triumphal arch with columns, erected in honor of the Roman emperor, has also been preserved. It serves as a kind of portal separating the old quarter from the modern world. One has only to pass under it, as you get into a completely different Turkey with narrow streets, paved roads, cozy houses and buildings that are considered the cultural heritage of the country, such as the Kesik minaret, Murat Pasha Mosque, built in the 16th century and the house of Kemal Ataturk.
- The Khydyrlyk Tower is another greeting from the past, left over from the gladiators. Historians' opinions about the purpose of the brick structure, 14 meters high, have diverged. Some claim that it was a lighthouse, others attributed a defensive function, and others even believe that water supplies were stored there. Whatever it was, but the Khydyrlyk Tower is located on a hill, which offers a beautiful panoramic view of the port of Kaleichi and the entire Antalya coast.
Antalya Clock Tower in the old town
- Saat Kulesi – Antalya Clock Tower is a historical landmark, a business card and a symbol of the city, it is most often depicted on guidebooks, stamps and postcards. The tower is located on Kalekapysy Square, near the entrance to the ancient Kaleichi quarter and is considered a favorite and unchanging meeting place, both among locals and tourists.
- The historical reference takes us to the 19th century. Saat Kulesi was built in 1901, after the German Emperor Wilhelm II made a friendly gift to the Turkish Sultan Abdul Hamid in the form of a batch of facade clocks. Similar clock towers can be found in other cities of Turkey, for example in Kemer.
- The exact use of the tower is still unknown. Some historians are of the opinion that it was built specifically for the dial, others believe that it was part of the fort fortifications.
- To this day, the structure has been preserved almost unchanged: a two-tiered structure with a total height of 14 meters. The lower part is in the shape of a pentagon, made of rough stone and has a rather rough appearance. The upper part is the complete opposite – rectangular, smooth, made of treated stone. Once the roof was decorated with an iron dome, but it was demolished by a strong hurricane, and a simple masonry with teeth appeared instead. The clock has also undergone changes, until 1974 it was decorated with figures of Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary, but the minute and second hands still show the exact time.
Yivli Minaret
- The Yivli Minaret can be seen from anywhere in the city. It is the oldest architectural monument of Muslim culture and a symbol of victory in the Mediterranean war. The tower is more than 800 years old and during this time its appearance has practically not changed and fully corresponds to the name – "corrugated", as was conceived by Sultan Kei-Kubad Ala-ad-Din, who erected it. The height is 38 meters, the middle tier consists of 8 columns connected to each other, the roof is topped with a pointed dome, inside the structure there is a spiral staircase and 90 steps. In places, a mosaic of blue bricks crumbled on the facade, revealing the stonework to the guests, but this only gives the building a spirit of antiquity and gives a certain charm.
- Initially, the Yivli minaret was attached to the walls of the Byzantine church, which was later converted into a mosque and has not survived to this day. The new building was built in 1372 by the architect Balaban Tavashi using the remaining antique fragments. During a sightseeing tour of Antalya, tourists can visit the oldest mosque, adhering to simple rules. First of all, they concern the appearance – no shorts and T-shirts with short sleeves, clothes should be of a restrained style, covering the body parts as much as possible; the head of women should be covered with a scarf; shoes must be removed before entering.
- It is not necessary to go inside during prayer. In the mosque itself, it is worth moving slowly, talking quietly; it is not forbidden to take pictures, but this rule does not apply to people – it is forbidden to take pictures of Muslim women, and a man should be asked for permission; the phone must be turned off otherwise a fine.
- In the complex with these attractions, you can visit the mausoleums of Nigar Khatun and Zinjirkyran and the house of Mevlevi – the Order of dervishes – an exhibition hall, in the expositions of which manuscripts, household items, musical, looms and tapestries are presented.
Lower Duden
- During a sightseeing tour of Antalya, guests are sure to get acquainted with the pearl of the city – the Duden waterfalls. Contrary to the common name and the fact that they are formed by the same river, these are two completely different water slides, besides being separated from each other by a distance of 15 kilometers.
- The lower Duden, 45 meters high, is located in the park of the same name in the Lara district, the entrance to the park area is free. This is the highest freshwater waterfall in the world, flowing into the open sea. You can admire it both from the observation deck and from the sea and, according to tourists, it is from yachts and ships passing by that the most picturesque view of it opens, when powerful streams, falling with a deafening roar, form a magnificent cloud of millions of tiny particles of water dust below. During the day, a rainbow acts as its constant companion, at night the cascade is decorated with multicolored illumination.
- Another name of the Lower Duden waterfall is Karpuzkaldyran, which means "jumping watermelon" in Turkish. According to one version, a full-flowing river overflowed its banks and washed away the melon that grew nearby. Another version says that the locals floated the striped berry down the river, but did not always have time to catch it.
- Be that as it may, this natural attraction must be seen with your own eyes, and then take a walk through the shady alleys of the park, relax in a cozy cafe, listening to the sound of falling water and enjoying fragrant coffee.
Tunektepe Mountain
- Tunektepe Mountain is located just 15 kilometers from the center of Antalya. This relatively small hill, overgrown with coniferous forests, only 605 meters above sea level, is considered the best observation deck, which offers fascinating views of the city, the azure sea merging with the horizon and the silhouette of the Toros mountain range, shrouded in a barely noticeable haze.
- It is best to go on such a trip in clear, cloudless weather, so that nothing would prevent you from enjoying nature and sights.
- More recently, it was possible to get to the top point on foot or by car.
- Since 2017, a cable car with a length of 1,706 meters has started operating.
- Although this project was conceived and approved back in 1986, construction began only in 2013, and 4 years later the long-awaited opening took place.
- The cable car cabins with panoramic, tinted windows can accommodate 6-8 people, the journey time is only 10 minutes.
- The top of the mountain meets with "delicious" air, saturated with the aroma of pine trees, refreshing coolness and a light breeze, it is worth considering this when going on an excursion and taking a light windbreaker or sweater with you.
- From entertainment, you can use a telescope, paying 1 lira for it, visit a cafe or restaurant that rotates 360 ° around its axis. A very popular and unusual place, 1 hour is equal to one circle, during this time you can enjoy ice cream, drink a cup of coffee and just relax in a relaxed atmosphere.
Upper Duden
- 10 kilometers from the center of Antalya, in the beautiful and well–groomed Shelalis Park, in the Varsak district, there is the first waterfall formed by the Duden River - the Upper Duden Waterfall, 27 meters high and more than 600 years old.
- The waterway itself is amazing, originating from the karst springs of the Taurus. Before the construction of the hydroelectric power station in 1962, it then went into underground caves, then surfaced and flowed on the surface. Now an artificially created channel has formed a single channel.
- At the very source, the flow of the river is calm and even lazy, but after some 100 meters it begins to gain strength, the first rapids appear and eventually it roars down the cliff.
- The overall picture is fascinating: silver streams of water flowing into the emerald lake look contrasting against the background of green lianas, coniferous and deciduous trees that are planted in the park area. There is also a plane tree, which is 700 years old, and tombs and sarcophagi of the II – III centuries are carved in the rocks.
- The main secret of this attraction is that you can admire it both from the observation deck and from the caves and grottoes hidden by the water slide itself. It is standing there that all the strength and power of this natural phenomenon is felt inside.
- However, you need to be careful because there are growths similar to stalagmites in the floor of the cave. Locals have a belief that if you tie these "needles" with a thread and make a wish, while looking at the sky visible in the lumen of the stone ceiling, it will certainly come true.
